Spitfire Scout Troop

The troop meets on Tuesday evenings in South Wonston and has historically had 28-30 youngsters attending regularly – so many that we have now created a second Troop (‘Endeavour’) who meet on Tuesdays in Worthy Down.

Spitfire Scout Troop (as we are now known) is run by a team of 4 leaders and assistants, who create exciting programmes for our scouts each term.

Remembrance parade in 2018 was more poignant than ever and the swelling masses of grateful people gathered around the war memorial and made it their duty to show their respects. It was cold, bright and fitting day to mark 100 years of the end of WW1.

Due to the popularity of scouting in our area, a second Scout Troop has been established meeting in Worthy Down from September 2019… more details to follow soon!

The University of Winchester led an amazing evening of murder mystery investigations using police forensic techniques. The scouts were given the challenge of trying to solve the murder of a University technician using evidence to secure a conviction. It was a great evening with plenty of false accusations  and conspiracy theories. We all learned so much about crime solving.
